Free Chips Ahoy Cookies!

Starting March 1st, fans of Nabisco Cookies on Facebook will have the opportunity to get a coupon for a free package of Chips Ahoy cookies!

Here's how the cookie will crumble:

On the first day of every month (and only on the first) fans of Nabisco Cookies on Facebook will be eligible for a coupon for a free package of cookies.  500,000 coupons will be available on March 1st (limit one per household).

• In order to get the free package of cookies you must purchase 1 package of cookies and 1 gallon of milk.  The second package of cookies will be free.

Although it might seem like a loop to jump through, who doesn't already purchase a gallon of milk a month (or weekly, or daily!) and usually there are enough deals floating around to get that first package of cookies for a steal!

Cold Water Creek Scarf for $4.99

Is it too early to start thinking about Christmas presents for next year?  I mean it is less than 10 months away.  Right now is the perfect time to start picking up presents!  Winter items are being put on clearance....gloves, clothing, scarves, candles, and anything else associated with the season.  Why not pick up these items and stash them for gifts?

And speaking of scarves....you can get a beautiful scarf from Coldwater Creek for $4.99

These would make a great gift for Mom, sister, co-worker, great-aunt that you only see once a year but still need a gift for...or even yourself!  This scarf usually retails for $15.50.  Plus, you can use this coupon:  WHH8520 and get an additional 25% off your purchase and FREE SHIPPING!  That makes this an even greater deal!

Thanks to Hip2Save for this awesome deal!

ALL Detergent for 50 cents!

The deal is back!  If you can get your hands on a Big Lots weekly ad for the week of February 28, All detergent is listed on the very back page as 2/$5.  This is on very specific sizes:  2X 50 oz or 3X 32 oz only.

There was a $2/1 (50 oz or larger) coupon available in the 02/07 Red Plum coupon insert.  This coupon may have been regional but is available on Ebay for a really good price!  Big Lots does not accept coupons so don't try doing this deal there.

Take the insert to your local Walmart or Target and after the price match and coupon only pay 50 cents per bottle!

*please check with your local stores to make sure that price matching is honored for Big Lots.  The last time this deal was available there were issues with certain Target/Walmarts honoring this deal.  Of the two local Walmarts in my area, only one would price match, go figure....but it is still an awesome deal!

Croc Mary Janes $8.99 shipped!

You can currently get this Mary Jane in children's for $9.99 with free shipping at Crocs.com.  Use this code CROCSAFF10 to get an additional 10% off your total purchase making these $8.99 shipped! Quantities are very limited so hurry, hurry, hurry!

WFMW-A New Use for A Dowel Rod

In our house we have a hallway full of doors.  Doors that must remain closed to keep our little Goosie (20 months) from getting into trouble during the day.

Our master bedroom currently has the only working bathroom.  Goosie loves to get into the bathroom and go into the shower.    Our older two share a room and Goosie just loves to climb on the ladders to their lofts.  Another door leads to the big ginormous hole that is currently where the main bathroom is being remodeled.  And even Goosie's door is remaining closed now due to her obsessive desire to open her drawers and string her clothes from one side of the house to the other.  Whew.  Throw in homeschooling on top of all of that excitement and it is one roller coaster day!

Our doors all have knobs like this which are constantly "accidentally locked" and that little metal doo-hickey key that came with them have all disappeared, strangely enough.

(My little Manny is in the doorknob saying "Whatcha doing Mom?" as I take the picture.  You can even see me is you look hard enough)

So our solution:  A dowel rod.  We found some that are the perfect size to fit into that little hole.  We keep several above each door frame for easy access.  Whala!  A cheap solution to a big problem!

Cheap Art & Pizza

I love, love, love bistro paintings.  I love to sit and look into them and dream about what I would be doing, the sites, the smells....so I was so exctied when I found this one!

This picture came on top of the pizza box that we got on Sunday for our leftover lunch at the local pizza shop!  I knew as soon as I saw it that it would become an impromptu piece of art.  I simply cut it off of the box and then took another piece of cardboard that we had in the basement, measured, cut and made a frame for the "art".  I painted the frame black and glued it together.

Whala!  I love it!

WFMW-Reusing Dryer Sheets

I am linking this post to WFMW @ We Are That Family.

I came across my tip quite by accident.  It is my habit to bring my clothes upstairs (basement laundry) after they are dry and let my oldest sort all of it, fold hers and her younger brothers, and then help put it away.  We have floor vents for our heating/AC vents and a dryer sheet accidentally got pushed up against the vent one day.

Once the heat turned on, my room was filled with the most wonderful, freshly cleaned laundry smell, which I love!  My husband suffers from migraines which can be triggered by smells.  Unfortunately, this means that I can't use most candles or other type of smelly good things.  BUT, the laundry sheets work!

**Disclaimer:  Please be careful when placing things in/around/over/under/anywhere within 5 feet of your heating vents!  Dryer sheets are flammable but are made to be put in the dryer.  We know that they can get very, very, very warm.   I simply tuck one corner into one of the slots and leave it there.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use common sense and caution!

The Vintage Pearl-A giveaway

I have numerous sites that I sit and drool dream over each morning at 6:00 a.m. when I get up.  It is my moment of quiet.  Hubby getting ready for work, kiddos still sleeping.  I run to the computer and check to see what my friends are doing.  Just a little addicted, I know.

One of those sites that I sit and dream over is The Vintage Pearl.  They make the most wonderful, beautiful items that I have ever seen.  If I was to ever win the lottery (would have to play first of course), I would buy one of everything.  Then I would give them to all of the wonderful people in my life.

Anyway, enough dreaming.  The Vintage Pearl is holding a giveaway today and I just wanted to give you the opportunity to enter....head to their site,  and enter.  All you have to do is leave a comment to have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate!

(photo being borrowed from The Vintage Pearl website...see, didn't I tell you it was lovely?)

Our Homemade Valentines

My Little Cheese (7) usually is very, very, very crafty.  She can usually be found with paper and pencils in her bed to color with after the lights have been turned off for the night.  She has a constant stash of crayons, markers, string, beads, glue, etc....

But.  She had no interest in making valentines.  I went to the store and stocked up on red paper, doilies, stickers, and basically everything else that goes into making the "perfect" homemade valentine.  Nope.  No interest.  It turns out that using tape to secure candy to a piece of scrapbook paper with pre-printed wording was much more fun.

We made these valentines that say "Thanks for Being Life Savers" to take down to our local EMS station.  We have had to call on our local crew several time in the last couple of years and so I really wanted to thank them.  We are going to head to the station later today.

We made these to give to our friends at church on Sunday.  Get it?  A whole crunch (instead of a whole bunch).

How to get 2 packs of Luvs Diapers for Free!

I recently received an awesome deal on Luvs diapers by utilizing two great online sites: Alice.com and Swagbucks
Have you tried these two sites yet?  Alice.com is online store for household essentials that always has free shipping (as long as you purchase 6 items).  As an added perk, once you sign up for an account you will get a $10 credit on your first purchase of $50 or more.

Swagbucks, well, I love them.  Every time I search the web I have the chance to "win" random amounts of "bucks" by utilizing the search engine.  The bucks are then redeemed for random glorious prizes including gift cards to amazing places.  My favorites:  A $5 giftcard for 45 swagbucks and a $5 giftcard to Alice.com for 20 swagbucks***.

So, here is my deal.  Earn at least 20 Swagbucks and redeem them for an Alice.com giftcard.  Once the electronic giftcard has been processed by Swagbucks and is ready for you to use it, head over to Alice.com and sign up for an account.  Luvs diapers (size 3 is what we use) are $6.78 for a Jumbo pack of 36 diapers.  This price is similar to Walmart's price.

Add 8 packages to your account to bring your total to $54.24 + tax.  You will then get $10.00 off your purchase in addition to the $5 gift card from Swagbucks and your total will now be $39.24 + tax.  The $15 in savings is basically like getting two bags of these diapers for free (plus a little overage) or getting the bags for $4.90 a bag.  A pretty good deal especially since you will be stocked with diapers for a while!

***At this time only one (1) Alice.com gift card is allowed per Swagbuck account.  Once you chosen this gift card, another CANNOT be added to your account, even if you use the giftcard.  I am hoping that this policy changes soon!

DIY day, Pictures using velum and scrapbook paper

I am linking this post to A Soft Place To Land's DIY day.  I had these two picture frames that needed some attention.  This picture frame is acutally a 8x10

I found a piece of scrapbook paper and a small velum embellishment.  Put them all together and wha-la!

The  next picture frame is much larger than it appears in the picture.  It hold three 5x7 pictures:

This picture frame is sitting on a large shelf in my living room.  I printed the words using a wonderful site called Lettering Delights on plain white paper and then cut them out .  I chose these words because these are all things that I need to remember to give to my children everyday!
