Kroger Coupons...did you get them?
Today I received coupons that Kroger randomly sends to me.
The great thing about these coupons?
They are specific to the items that I purchase on a regular basis and there is always at least one coupon for a free item.
What did I get?
FREE Nature Valley Granola Bar (1)
FREE Betty Crocker Cake Mix (1)
$1/10 Yoplait yogurt cups
75 cents/2 Betty Crocker Cake Mixes or Frostings
$2/1 Pert Plus Shampoo
$2/2 All Detergent
45 cents/1 Kroger Mini Carrots
$1/1 Pledge product
$1/2 Green Giant Frozen Veggies
$1/2 Jif Peanut butter
$1/4 Knorr Pasta or Rice sides
$1/2 Ragu Sauces
$1/1 Frechetta Pizza
$1/2 General Mills Cereal
How do I know that they are specific to the items that I buy the most often?
First, these are items that I buy in bulk at least once a month. Some items, like the carrots, are purchased weekly.
My friend Kim also received a set of coupons today. Her coupons are different than mine, but are for the items that she buys the most.

Well, I am not exactly sure. To the best of my knowledge, they are received because I created an online account with Kroger.com. I registered my card number (or alternate number with them) and have been receiving these coupons since.
What do they look like?
And, the coolest part? Most of them are Manufacturers Coupons which mean that they can be used at other stores!
Go, run, as fast as you can type...go to Kroger.com and register your card.

Using Coupons - a Coupon Co-op
I used to never use coupons. I used to think it was a waste of time. That is until I found The Grocery Game. This site opened my eyes to ways to save that I had never ever considered. I have been using this site for just over a year and my savings are amazing.
One of the most important helps that I have found in utilizing coupons and finding the best deals is to form a type of Coupon Co-op. I, along with two of my best friends, have entered this couponing world together.
Here are some things that we do:
1. We get alot of papers, and I mean alot! We each get at least six papers a week, which means at least six inserts a piece. How do we do this? We buy papers, we get papers (or at least the inserts) from people at church who don't use them, we get the inserts from relatives-my mother in law lives out of town but she clips the inserts and mails them to me.
It might seem like an overload of papers and alot of weeks it is. I am not a very organized person so it takes me awhile to get all of my inserts organized and clipped. But, once done, I am a mean couponing machine! I'll tell you how I organize them in a moment.
The benefit of alot of inserts might be obvious but I am going to state it again anyway. When a great deal comes available, we have more than one coupon for that item - we each have six. Stockpiling items that are non-perishable becomes an even bigger adventure. I have enough free toothpaste to last a year. Also, I purchased enough electrosol dishwashing tabs with the $2.25 coupon that was in an insert to last me at least 10 more months. My out of pocket expense was about 50 cents a box.
2. We share coupons. There are always coupons that one person loves to get while another person would never use it at all. With at least six inserts a piece, there are alot of unused coupons. Also, one of us might have a closet full of an item that has come up for a great sale and therefore they don't need thier coupon. Another one of us might have just run out of the same item and are looking to stockpile it.
3. We purchase coupons together (paying for the effort of the person who clipped and is mailing the coupons, not for the coupons themselves). We are able to purchase larger lots of coupons for the same item and in most cases, lower the shipping cost.
4. We share deals. If one of us are at a store and find a super duper deal, we let the others know.
Organizing our coupons
This is a large task. But it is so easily done. When we started out we had small expandable folders or a box with dividers in it. This worked for, um, a month or so. Then we each went to binders with baseball card holders. You know, the clear ones that you can purchase at almost any walmart or hobby store. They are the perfect size to slip coupons. Then, it is so easy to see each coupon that you have instead of having to flip through a bunch of coupons to find the one you need.
I have purchased notebook dividers, with subject tabs. This way my coupons are divided into sections to make it even easier. My dividers have pockets in them. As I use a coupon, I pull it out of it's holder and slip it into a pocket. This way, at the checkout, I know that I have all my coupons in one spot.
Also, as I walk through the store, I can pull the blinkies and stick them in another divider to be put away in the right spot. You might not need the blinky at the moment but you might be happy to have it in a week or two! You never know when they will come in handy.
