Who woulda thunk it?

Sometimes I am just really amazed at a situation. Not often, but sometimes a situation will occur that will just flip my lid and then I really have to rethink my views on things. Ok, so I am not talking about politics but kindness, generosity, a willingness to help found in the strangest of places.

Case in point-a local medical group. It is huge. Most of the physicians around my town (technically a city but still feels like a town to me) are inside of this medical group-family doctors, specialist, hospitals, etc.

I received a couple statements today from visits that my children had recently had with the pediatrician. I was expecting these bills and knew that they wouldn't be little. I called the customer service number to set up a payment arrangement and was told that the group doesn't do payment arrangements. My heart dropped.

Instead they offer a discount. If you pay by phone within the first 30 days of receiving a statement, they will discount a bill by 20%! 20%! Within the first 60 days a discount of 15% will be given.

Wow.
