Starting this Sunday, Kroger is have a special, much like the mega event of the last two weeks except this time it is $3 off any 10 participating items or 30 cents an item. In this post I listed a preview of the sales to be found this week.
Here is one that I missed:
Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce will be 58 cents a can (after the additional 30 cent savings)
Coupon Available:
50 cents/2 = 16 cents for two or 8 cents a can
How I got that amount?
My Kroger doubles coupons face value up to and including 50 cents. Two cans of manwich totals $1.16 (with special savings) and then the 50 cent coupon doubles to $1.00.

Kroger Preview for week of 02/01
I get my Kroger ad through my local paper on Fridays as part of a special savings circular that is put out. Therefore, I have access to many of the upcoming deals prior to alot of other people.
Ways to benefit from this:
1) Pull out coupons to use early and be able to shop early on Sunday (helps especially with Mega 10 events).
2) Be able to purchase coupons (paying for person's time to cut them, not for the coupons themselves) from places such as ebay and Taylortown Coupon Review for items that you can get either free or almost free and have them arrive via mail before the end of the next week. For example, during the last mega 10 event, I was able to get 20 coupons for the green giant coupons mailed to me for $2. Because the sale and coupons made them free, I was able to get 20 bags of veggies for only $2 out of pocket.
3) Check for the upcoming coupons in Sunday's paper through Taylortown Coupon Review to know whether or not it will be worth it to you to purchase more than paper.
4) Just knowing the scoop ahead of time!

Swagbucks, I'm in love!

Have you heard about swagbucks? It powered by Google and rewards you for doing something everyone does-search for something on the internet. You are randomly given "bucks" to redeem for simply doing your regular searches using the Swagbuck search engine. The list of items that you can get using your bucks is constantly changing and amazing: baseball cards, autographed photos from bands, foot ball helmets, gift cards to Paypal, Amazon, movie tickets, etc....if you want it, it is probably there.
And it is kinda like winning the lottery because you never know when you will "win", and I swear it is addictive!
So far, I have won two Starbucks gift cards and have earned almost enough "bucks" for a third-and as wonderful as Starbucks is, it is so much sweeter when it is free! To get started, click the link that is in my sidebar or go here to Swagbucks!

$1.50 Pampers Coupon
Follow this link to get a coupon mailed to you good for $1.50 off your next purchase of Pampers diapers. This coupon is offered by Walmart so I am not sure if it will be a manufacturers coupon or just a walmart coupon. However, at this stage in my life, any coupon is a good coupon!
After Dinner.
After dinner...dishes to be washed, children who need to be put to bed.
After dinner...get in one last play of the day.
After dinner...have a list of plans, thoughts, to do lists, grand ideas to accomplish.
After dinner...tuck babies in bed. Go back and tuck in bed again.
After dinner...make a cup of coffee that will never be poured.
After dinner...smile and kiss my hubby for what may be the first time of the day.
After dinner...sit down to relax for a moment.
After dinner...crash.

"Don't Put That In Your Mouth!"
Have you ever visited Vocalpoint's website? If not, you should. It is full of useful tips and information for everyday living. Most recently I ran across an article on 10 things that women should never put in their mouths. It is very interesting and full of some things that you might never imagine! This is the complete list directly from Vocalpoint.
"You probably say this to your kids all the time, but are you following your own advice? We asked nutritionists, dentists, and even ER docs to come up with the very worst things a woman can sip, chew, or swallow."
Ice: It’s a crystal and so is tooth enamel. So when you bite down on a cube or chip, something has to crack.
A contact lens: Your saliva is swimming with bacteria, so if you clean or moisten contacts with it, you’re risking conjunctivitis.
A Red Savina habanero chile pepper: It’s the hottest pepper in the world, according to Guinness World Records—about 100 times hotter than a jalapeƱo.
Dried apricots: If you don’t chew these thoroughly, they can actually reconstitute in your stomach and block an intestine.
Prime rib: Despite its lean appearance, it’s the fattiest type of steak, typically 982 calories and 78 grams of fat per pound. That’s equivalent to almost two Big Macs.
A toothbrush with lots of paste: Some toothpaste flavors can be so overwhelming that they reduce brush time. Brushing with only a dab promotes better tartar control and gum health.
Aspirin: There’s an old home remedy that recommends letting an aspirin dissolve next to an aching tooth. Aspirin is an acid, though, so it can eat away at gum tissue, leaving what looks like a cigarette burn.
Liver: This used to be regarded as a nutritious food for women because of its high iron content, but not anymore. Because the liver is an organ that filters blood, all those chemicals and hormones fed to livestock nowadays collect there.
Margarita: Oh, no, say it ain’t so! Freeze two kinds of alcohol with lots of sugar and salt, and you have a concoction that’s bad for your heart, arteries, liver, blood sugar, energy level, and digestion. Plus, it promotes overeating (see next item).
Basket of tortilla chips: They may look innocuous (and they’re free!), but the typical fried serving has about 1,000 calories, of which nearly half are from fat. Order steamed tortillas and dip them instead.
Muffin: Don’t let the words “bran” or “whole-grain” fool you, muffin is just another word for cake.
Hair: If you twirl and bite yours, you could be at risk for developing a bezoar, or intestinal hair ball. Fibrous veggies and fruits, such as celery, potato skins, and pulpy oranges, can add to the problem.
Stuffed-crust pizza: If you eat enough of this, the inside of your arteries will start looking the same way.
Nothing at all: Women who skip meals have more of a tendency to gain weight than those who eat regularly. That’s because starving makes you more prone to impulse eating. Plus, it gives you bad breath.
Now, I am definitely not guilty of the last one. But my biggest culprit would probably be those tortilla chips. They are just so dog gone addictive!

What do you do Wednesday? On Temper Tantrums
This is a new post that I will start doing on Wednesdays address some common everyday Mommy issues. Why? Because in this adventure of being a Mommy, there are so many things that just seem to big for me to tackle. I am always searching for new ways to look at things, try new ideas, or just get plain old good advice.
If you would like to join me, please post about the same problem/issue/helpful advice that is on topic for the day. Put a link to my blog inside that post (please be nice and tell where you got the idea and it will also allow others to come here and do the same). Then, come back here and leave a comment. I will then put a link to your blog inside my post. If you are not a blogger, leave a comment with your thoughts. I hope to have Mr. Linky up soon!
Today's Question:
What advice do you have on trying to stop a temper tantrum before it starts?
Here's my thought:
If the tantrum comes because my baby has been told "no", I try to have a "yes" to offer first.
Ex: If my child is hungry and wants a sugary snack I might say "You may have an apple now and we will have ________ later. Alot of times my children lose it as soon as I say no. If that is not the first word out of my mouth, the tantrum doesn't come.
What do you do?

Bloggy Giveaway Time!
It's my favorite time, Bloggy Giveaway Carnival Time! Although I have never won, I find so many fun sites to watch and have even made some very good friends (ones that I may never meet but wish that I could).
Anyway, I want to start a blog on homeschooling. I am currently homeschooling my daughter who is first grade but have two more to come along after her.
I am giving away a $5 gift card to Starbucks for this giveaway.
All you have to do is help me come up with a name for my blog. I need a catchy blog name. One that is a play on words maybe, funny, witty, something that my brain just cannot come up with. Also, I would love it if you have a favorite home school blog, let me know!
I will choose the winner by picking my favorite new blog name. Giveaway for USA only, sorry. I will close the giveaway on Friday around 9:00 p.m. Enter as many times as you like but please leave a different suggestion each time. Be sure to leave me a way to contact you!
Oh I am so excited!

Kroger run!
I love when Kroger does their mega deals. They last for two weeks and the deals are usually really (and I mean really, really) good.
You can see some of the deals available here from last weeks post but I wanted to share with you today a whoo-hoo! I went to Kroger to get some things...milk, bread, butter, icecream, popcorn-you know the absolute essentials to make it through the week.
The mega event included Kraft shredded cheese which is regularly $3.99 on sale for $1.99. However, if you purchase any ten qualifying items, an additional $5.00 or 50 cents an item is taken off the total. This made the cheese $1.49 a bag. This in it's own right is a great deal. However, to sweeten the deal, there was a blinkie machine waiting patiently with coupons for 75 cents off a bag of cheese. This made the cheese 75 cents a bag! Whoo-hoo!
So what did I get in addition to the first items I mentioned?
5 bags of Chex Mix
15 Bags of frozen veggies
10 bags of Kraft Cheese
Eggs
3 boxes of variety icecream goodies (for the hubby and kids of course)
1 bag of bagels
1 loaf of bread
1 guilty chocolate bar for me...ok, two but who is counting
1 Dr Pepper because the chocolate bar(s) just go so much better with it
4 apples.
Laundry detergent
Pre-Kroger card value/coupons/extra $15 off for mega event
$130.75
Total out of pocket:
$40.25
A savings of $90.50!
Plus, I strongly recomend when these deals are going on to search your sale paper and then head to ebay as soon as possible! I purchased 20 coupons for the green giant frozen veggies that are on sale this week. I spent 2.99 with no shipping. I turned around and for my $3 out of pocket, got 20 bags of free frozen veggies!

Who woulda thunk it?
Sometimes I am just really amazed at a situation. Not often, but sometimes a situation will occur that will just flip my lid and then I really have to rethink my views on things. Ok, so I am not talking about politics but kindness, generosity, a willingness to help found in the strangest of places.
Case in point-a local medical group. It is huge. Most of the physicians around my town (technically a city but still feels like a town to me) are inside of this medical group-family doctors, specialist, hospitals, etc.
I received a couple statements today from visits that my children had recently had with the pediatrician. I was expecting these bills and knew that they wouldn't be little. I called the customer service number to set up a payment arrangement and was told that the group doesn't do payment arrangements. My heart dropped.
Instead they offer a discount. If you pay by phone within the first 30 days of receiving a statement, they will discount a bill by 20%! 20%! Within the first 60 days a discount of 15% will be given.
Wow.

5o cents for milk
Last night I had to run to Kroger for milk. I had too. *Gasp* It had been two days. So, I trudged into Kroger late last night. Then, had to trudge back out in the cold to get money, then back inside. It was 20 degrees! Whew!
Anyway, I got the other few things that I needed: Jelly, popcorn, chocolate syrup (for chocolate milk of course) and then headed to the self check out. I always check the coupon catalina for left over coupons. There was one dangling on the machine that had a $3.00 off printed on it. I took a closer look to see that it was a coupon for $3.00 off a next purchase! A gold mine in coupons!
I looked at the lady manning the self checkout lanes and then looked back at the coupon. I snagged it and turned it in. This means that my milk only cost 50 cents!
Always check those coupons laying around. Some people don't realize that they are leaving free money at the checkout. Check out the loot of coupons my friend Kim found the other day...

I wanted some scrapbook paper for Christmas and was given some spending money by my wonderful in-laws! I went to AC Moore last Wednesday night to snag me some paper only to find that it was 99 cents a sheet! I cringed, picked up a couple pages but ended up putting it back down.
Then, a dear friend of mine told me that Micheals was having a sale this week on scrapbooking paper! 7 sheets for $1...yes 7 sheets for $1! So, we headed to Micheal's yesterday after church to catch the deal.

I got 112 sheets for just over $16.05, and there was still a ton left!
How much did I save? Well it is hard to say since some pages were 59 cents, some 79 cents, and some 99 cents. But just for fun...
A savings of...
$60 if each sheet had been 59 cents
$82 if each sheet had been 79 cents
$109 if each sheet had been 99 cents

But what does Burger King have?
Today I was late getting home. I needed to put the kids down for quiet time when I got home so I decided to duck into the Micky D's on the way home. There was only one car waiting in front of me so I was excited. In and out.
I had already rolled down my window to place my order so I could hear what the guy in front of me was ordering. But he wasn't ordering, he was complaining. Then I hear him ask this question:
"But what does Burger King have?"
Now I am really listening. I am in a drive through at Micky D's trying to get home to preserve nap time and this guy is asking about the Burger King menu. I laugh out loud and then physically lean out the window, to hear the rest of the conversation.
Micky D person: "I'm sorry sir, I don't know." I hear her say.
Pesky Car Driver: "But what do they sell on their dollar menu?"
Micky D person: "I don't eat there sir," (Clever I thought...way to keep your job because there is probably a boss around somewhere.) "you can go there if you like."
Pesky Car Driver: "Ok, fine..." and then goes on to order.
When he is at the pick up window, he is still fussing about the difference between the two places of business.
Really?

A giggle...a chuckle...
Oh this is funny...no, bad...no funny in the moment...bad.
Click here. Be ready to giggle even if you know it is wrong!
(For those afraid to click, I would never post something that is immoral. This is just a husband/wife chuckle. It involves a anniversary and a gift gone wrong. We've all been there!)

Poop.
It is such a lovely word...poop. Is it an acronym for something? I don't know but as of late, it the favorite word of my son. He says it even though he knows that he shouldn't. And then, bless his little repeating heart, he says "Sorry Mommy for saying poop" a hundred times, just for the excuse of saying the word again!
Now, I know that we all poop. I know that there are some days that I say I am too pooped to poop! I know that it could be alot worse. But something about that word is just driving me crazy! Anyone else pooped of hearing the word poop?
